Donating for Cancer Services

I have decided that in gratitude for surviving breast cancer, from now till Easter, I will donate 1/4 of the proceeds from my Amazon paperback sales of The Ambitious Madame Bonaparte to the Cancer Wellness Center in Northbrook, Illinois. They provide much-needed services—counseling, wellness services, classes, seminars—free to cancer patients, survivors, and caregivers. They’ve been a godsend to me. You can link to my Amazon page here.

Two for the Price of One

The Ambitious Madame Bonaparte is on another blog tour, and there are two reviews on offer today.

The first is at Unabridged Chick. You can read it here.

The second is at A Bookish Affair, and you can read it here.

Plus, there is an interview with me at Flashlight Commentary here.

What a great way to start a new month! (And no, this isn’t an April Fool’s joke.)

A Cool Milestone

library

Ok, I know it’s a blurry photo, but I was trying to be low-key about taking it instead of acting like a hyperactive puppy spotting a squirrel. This is what it looks like when your book is featured at your local library in preparation for an upcoming author event. Just one of those things I was never sure I’d achieve.

New Review of The Ambitious Madame Bonaparte

The Copperfield Review, an online journal for historical fiction, just published a new review of The Ambitious Madame Bonaparte. The reviewer gave it five quills (their equivalent of stars).

While you’re at it, you might want to check out other pages on the journal. Editor Meredith Allard has put together a great publication for lovers of historical fiction.

Marketing Friday

This morning, I have been marketing. I contacted two blog tour services to see about setting up blog tours for The Ambitious Madame Bonaparte. If it works out, I’ll be posting details on the blog as the tours happen.

I have also been cold calling, emailing, and writing to gift shops connected with historic sites that are related to my novel. I’m not sure if there’s really much chance of getting my book placed in those shops, but it never hurts to ask!

Now, having finished that bit of business, I’m going out with my husband to eat lunch at our favorite Mexican restaurant and then go see The Hobbit: The Desolation of Smaug.

Happy Friday, all.
