Ruth Hull Chatlien has been a writer and editor of educational materials for nearly thirty years, specializing in U.S. and world history. She is the author of three novels. She lives in northeastern Illinois with her husband, Michael. When she’s not writing, she can usually be found gardening, knitting, or spoiling her dog Coco.

One thing I like is that it’s so much less cluttered than modern lives. Thanks for the love. I’m doing ok so far. Just taking it one day at a time.
Look at that lovely desk! And the floor! Is it a rug, or different colored wood?
I don’t remember for sure. But if you look at the edge by the hearth, it’s higher, which leads me to think it’s a rug.
It reminds me of my grandmother’s house
