Stephanie Dray has outdone herself this time. Often when I read multiple timeline books, I have a favorite that I can’t wait to get back to, but with this novel, I was invested in all three stories. The three main characters are each compelling in very different ways. And the time periods! The French Revolution, World War I, and World War II—each full of drama and human tragedy.
